VA Fiduciary

VA Fiduciary

Every year, thousands of veterans return from areas of conflict and are unable to manage their own affairs due to trauma, illness, or injury. The VA has a specific program for fiduciaries. Generally, the veteran may opt to name their own fiduciary, but the selected person would still need to be qualified and meet standards set by the Veteran’s Administration.

Fiduciaries are only named for a veteran under very specific circumstances. Either a medical professional certifies the veteran needs these services, or a court certifies these services are necessary. Even after it is agreed the veteran needs assistance and names their own fiduciary, there is a still a background check and a thorough investigation of the person.
